Naked Wedding Cake

Baking for me has always been a joy. From my childhood days of making mud pies with flowers on the top to baking the real thing. Just one smile or “hmmm that’s so good” is worth all the time it takes to prepare the sweet goodness.
The Joys Of Baking
While I am baking I am a world away from all my problems and worries. It frees my mind of the bad and fills it with good. Even when things don’t always go as planned when baking, it’s a million times better than the burdens I carry through life.
Just knowing I can make something that makes people happy is worth so much to me. Baking has helped me come out of my shell and gives me the confidence to continue to do what I love to do.
Cake Decorating Business?
I am just getting started in sharing my creations with others and hope to eventually have my own small business. I have found that word of mouth has been my greatest help. Others promoting my cakes and praising the taste as well as appearance has helped tremendously.
I have more requests lined up for cakes from weddings to baby shower cakes. I never would have thought this could happen to me, that someone would actually want to buy my cakes.
But dreams do come true and I encourage everyone to follow their passion. I have a long way to go, but I feel I am heading in the right direction. I read all I can and print out pictorials as guidelines to help me perfect my skill. I am never afraid to try what is requested of me or what I see online. Practice makes perfect and my husband has no problem eating what doesn’t make my “A” list.
Thanks to this web site I can enjoy all that people share and learn from the best.
Thanks Lorelie for providing such a great website for us to learn and share. The Naked Wedding Cake
The cake in the photo was for a friend of mine who asked me to make her wedding cake. She wanted a unique but simple yet flavorful confection. We decided on a Naked Lemon-Berry Mascarpone. Raspberries and blueberries were baked right into in the batter with lemon zest.
The Simple Filling
The filling was a sweet mix of Mascarpone cheese sweetened with powdered sugar. The outside was a coating with powdered sugar which was then trimmed with fresh raspberries and handmade fondant pearls.
This was my first attempt at this type of cake on a large scale. I received great reviews and was proud it turned out so well.
