CAKE THERAPY


I feel baking and decorating cakes is like therapy for me. I zone into what I am doing and just love it. It is a creative outlet that I began quite some time ago when my children were small (they are now all young adults.) It was not until 2007 that I started to sell my goodies and I'm happy to say I have a nice following.

Unless a client requests a copy all my creations are original. I was a Wilton cake decorating instructor for six years and have stayed in touch with many of my students. I just love that!

THE DREAM CAKE REQUEST

My biggest joys doing my cakes comes from donating them to the Stony Brook University hospital on Long Island. This particular Thanksgiving/Pumpkin birthday confection was done for a young man battling a serious illness. He turned 18 on Thanksgiving and all he wanted was a dream cake. I was more than happy to make his cake dreams come true.

He requested a fall theme with a chocolate for one tier and red velvet for the other. For years I have been telling my family...always strive for Heaven points....acts of kindness really do matter....so I practice what I preach.

If I could tell you - the reaction when he saw the cake was priceless!! It was an awesome moment in time and one that will not be forgotten. It made my Thanksgiving all the more special! I felt honored to do this for him. It was wonderful to see such a huge smile on his face.

I named my little business Enchanted Cakes - you can find me on Facebook. My profile picture is that of Mater from the Disney movie Cars. If you have children you know what I am talking about. My biggest dream is to own a cupcake shop....hopefully one day soon!

Amazing Cakes and Cupcakes!! She put every little detail possible into these jobs. I have her make cakes for every party that I need one for.

Sherry is a great teacher!, I know because she taught me with just 1 fondant class. She is patient , kind and understanding. Her cakes are magnificent. It is obvious how much of her heart goes into each cake she creates.

I only gave Sher two comments about my son's work and his hobby. My jaw dropped when I saw the cake. And so did everyone else's especially my son when they saw it. It looked and tasted AMAZING. She is such an upbeat and energetic person. A pleasure to be around.

When you see Sher's cakes you might think they are much too beautiful to eat... but you CAN eat them and they are DELISH. She puts so much time and care into each one they are sculpted, painted and carefully planned. They are truly works of edible art. <3

Sher has a true gift ! First her cakes are to die for! They are not only beautiful but delicious too ! She truly puts her heart and soul into each baked treasure ! Sher Stevens brings not only her artistic talents when decorating her creations but can whip up a cake that is not only beautiful but delicious as well. Her cakes are moist with plenty of filling to tempt you to the next bite. I have ordered cakes on numerous occasions and advised Sher my desired theme and left the rest to her creation. I do not believe she has disappointed any of her customers always producing a masterpiece of a cake!

I give Enchanted Cakes 5 stars for every aspect from request, theme, design, taste and texture. Sher knows her skill and has proven to those who have ordered she can provide a cake of your dreams! Bravo to this chef and her efforts to help those in need! A smile says a thousand words! She is the icing on all her cakes bringing them to life as we enjoy every bite.
